If left untreated, timber problems can cause structural damage to your property.

Dry rot is the most serious form of fungal decay as it attacks the timber in buildings and occurs when moisture airborne spores come into contact with damp timber that has a moisture content of over 14%. It does not need moisture to spread as it generates moisture through the digestion of the timber.

We remove the affected timbers and replace them with pre-treated timber. Any remaining timbers which are at risk of being affected by the dry rot are also treated with an effective fungicide. Where the dry rot has passed through the masonry, we isolate it using physical containment and/or masonry sterilisation. Every attack of dry rot has to be taken on its merits and treated appropriately.
